NASA GSFC celebrates Black History Month

Join NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., as they celebrated Black History Month. Each week in February 2009, a different African-American employee from GSFC was featured. The employees talked about their careers, career paths and, in some cases, obstacles and challenges they have faced. Click the NASA GSFC link for MPEG-4 downloads.


Dewayne Washington is the deputy news chief at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. His background is in journalism and he started as a combat correspondent for the U.S. Marines. He introduces the profiles for Black History Month 2009.

Danielle Wood is a research scientist at M.I.T. who has worked with NASA in finding ways that remote sensing techniques can aid in developing nations, particularly in Africa.

Denna Lambert is the program manager for the disabilities program at Goddard. She is blind and works to help other Goddard employees with disabilities do their jobs comfortably and effectively.

Jahi Wartts is a business resources analyst and currently works on the James Webb Space Telescope program.

Noble Jones is an aerospace engineer who has worked on design for LRO and SDO. He also plays professional arena football for Maryland.
