Traveling Exhibit: Toy Time

Science, history, and culture come together in this exhibit that uses no electricity – all movement is through simple machines and guest actions. More than 15 components with over 30 activity stations will keep you and your kids active, stimulated, and experimenting. Toy Time was developed by Museum Productions, LLC.

Early Afternoon Science Class

April 6 - Our Solar System

Ecosystems Program
On Earth Day we celebrate our blue planet. How much do you really know about it? We’ll explore ecosystems around the world to discover what makes Earth so special and why so many people are trying to protect it.

Dates & Ages:
K & 1st grade (with parent): Tuesdays, April 6, 13, & 20
2nd & 3rd grades: Wednesdays, April 7, 14, & 21
4th – 6th grades: Thursdays, April 8, 15, & 22

Times: All programs 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Cost: Resident $22.50 Non-resident $28.10
Registration required in person in advance by a legal guardian. Limited space.

Ready, Point, Shoot!
Join a professional photographer to learn more about the art and science of photography and photo manipulation. We may not make you a pro, but you’ll feel like one!

Note: All participants must bring a digital camera to each session and have access to editing software.

Dates, Times, & Ages:
Sundays, April 18 & 25, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Ages 10 – 15, with a parent/guardian
Cost: Resident $30 with a parent/guardian Non-resident $37.50 with a parent/guardian

Eyes to the Skies
April 9th at 8:15 PM

Join us for our telescope nights! These free, informal events are held in the parking lot behind the Explorium (weather permitting). We’ll explore the skies with our professional-grade 16-inch Meade LX Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

No registration required – just show up! The telescope will be out for at least one hour after the scheduled start time. Note: Stars must be visible for the telescope to align.

Recommended for Ages 8+; all children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

There are lots of scientists that you can probably name...Einstein, Jane Goodall, Galileo, Thomas Edison…. these are ones that you hear about a lot. But, did you know that there are thousands of scientists that have discovered all kinds of things that we take for granted everyday? This hair-raising event celebrates some of these heroes of science and their amazing discoveries!
